The actual location of the world longest beaver dam (that is until someone find a longer one) is just south of Lake Claire, about 190 km to the NNE of Fort McMurray, inside Wood Buffalo National Park, Northern Alberta- Canada.
The dam has a length of about 850 meters and It has at least existed at this spot for over 15 years , aerial photo's show that this dam did not exist in 1975.

Thanks for this, Dave; I had seen an article on this, but the resolution was too low, and the lat-long was cropped. I tried to track it down in GE with the scant info provided, but gave up. I was looking too far to the west.
I've spent a fair amount of time on the Canadian shield in Ontario, and commented to someone that I found it astonishing the degree to which beavers could influence the evolution of the landscape and biosphere. I got a very blank look in return. This image beautifully illustrates the point.
